    Week 10--Boeing Creek Park

This is a small park in the City of Shoreline, Washington. It was such a lovely day today we went walking--tomorrow the rains return!

    Hi Judith,

The composition has some nice leading lines and shapes, its the colors that leave me wanting more, if you could perhaps pull a bit more blue out of the water reflection it would cut through the drab muddy foreground. Nicely composed.

I appreciate your comment. Here is a version which makes the adjustment you suggested I think. I like it!

First image isn't visible now but the second version looks good to me.

Hi Judith - I like both. The first one looks a bit more moody, while the second has a more cheery cast to it. It is a beautiful capture of nature!

Hi Judith, re your Boeing Creek shot, I really like the leading lines and textures in the foreground. The log with the green moss really sets it up, well done. I always find shots of water ways like this can be somewhat the same as it is hard to put then into context. You have done a great job with the foreground to attract my eye. Good depth of field considering your fairly large aperture of f/3.7.

Thank you! I've been following Nigel Danson's youtube series and it has helped me look at landscape differently.

Thanks for the tip about Nigel Danson, looks like a lot of good material and very well presented.

Nice looking effect for the root shot, I don't think the image is oversharpened, this particular composition does need a dash more contrast to bring out the detail and a bit of adjustment to enhance the limited colors.

That's really up to you Judith. How do the images compare (to your eye) if you back off the sharpening?

Which leads to the question, what was it about this particular scene that made you reach for the sharpening slider? I'd agree with John, that it would benefit from adding some contrast.

Hi Judith - I like the geometric design of these roots and the way you have captured them. I am beginning to find that I like to sharpen my pics just a tad but I feel that it is up to the person regarding how much! Your picture looks good to me on my computer screen. I agree with the consensus that a bit more contrast would probably be helpful.
