Nicely seen. The black lines are an important element of the image too. Would you consider making the horizontal ones truly horizontal?

the chair wanted moving to the left a couple of inches to put the upright joint in the middle, or a couple of inches to the right to move the upright joint further away from the middle

Jim, I love it. I think that the sloping horizontal lines breaks the otherwise ordered composition. It makes one look closer. That is only my opinion.

I am a bit OCD about squaring things up, but that's just me. It's good work.

Jim, I agree with what the others have written. If one shoots square on, then the camera needs to be level and square to the subject, otherwise the image comes out looking sub-optimal. Horizontal and vertical lines need to be that way in the final image, otherwise the shot looks off a bit.

I like the subject, Jim, but I have to agree others that it needs a bit of "straightening" work. The line of tiles at the bottom is parallel to the frame but the top joint in the masonry runs downhill, which looks a bit odd.

In B&W, which elsewhere, seems in favour. I wish it would show up here online as it does in B&W as good as on my desktop screen. Does a monitor favour colour?

B&W conversions rarely translate from your editing to the internet. Blacks have a real tendency to block up. In this shot, I would add a bit of gradation to the lower left corner as it is just enough of an ee distraction to pull my eye there and not to the chair.

I love black and white but in this instance I prefer the colour version because the colours are so subtle.
