Mike, nice photo; however the thumb on the right hand appears to be at a odd angle.

My first question to you would be "what don't you like about this image?"
I would suggest you look at how you pose and direct your subject and how you frame the shot. Study the works of some of the well known portrait photographers; Karsh, Annie Leibovitz and Joey L are some of the photographer's whose work I study.

Overall pretty good, would suggest some hair tidying either before or post processing, which the post edit might catch the light spec within the hair. Also the cropping is a bit tight, nice effort.

The main problem I see with these images are how you have directed your subject:
1. Shooting with her square to the camera versus at an angle;
2. Positioning of her arms right against her body rather than being away from it and showing a bit of a gap through the arms;
and
3. Positioning of the hands - where the positioning is a bit awkward and the positioning cuts them in a bit of a strange way.
