    Unusually Perfect Dog

It is very unusual that we get a dog that is just about perfect. However CoCo fits this description. She is an eight month old Maltipoo (Maltese + Poodle) who was turned over to us because her family had an older dog who just hated her and wanted to attack her. CoCo is friendly, house and leash trained, loves kids and has a darling personality. I also think that she is lovely and I don't expect to have her as a foster for very long as soon as these pictures hit our rescue website...

Aww, Richard she is cute. Just too bad about the family having to give her up. Hard to know how another dog will react, yet maybe it's best to test that first? Our black lab isn't mean at all, in fact she's pretty shy and independent (very unusual for a lab, but she was the runt of a very boisterous litter).
We had her check out the puppies before taking any of them. She was a little aloof towards them, but now she's warming up. She is overall a sweet girl.

My Goldendoodle, Holly, could be called a therapy dog for rescues...
    Unusually Perfect Dog
They come into our home, often scared of big dogs because they have been beaten up on the streets by bigger dogs, It seldom takes Holly over a day to win their confidence and make them her friends...

    Richard, I enjoyed the photos.

I have a somewhat vague recollection that you've had a previous foster also called Coco, or am I dreaming?

Yes, we have had at least one CoCo before. She was a rescue Labradoodle.

There might have been others, I would need to look through our data base to find out.

If a dog already has a name when he/she arrives with us, we tend not to change it. These dogs have been through a lot and a change of name would be just one other burden.

Our database identifies each dog with a number. We do that because names do change...

It's less than 24 hours since we placed Coco's pictures on our rescue site and cyber space is burning up with adoption requests. We have found one couple who seem to be ideal for this girl. My wife will do a home visit tomorrow to ensure that Coco will be going to a good home...

You really warmed my heart, knowing that your wife checks out the home of the prospective parents. That is so wonderful.

We had one couple adopt one of our dogs and they said they adopted their daughter from China with that adoption agency doing less research into their lives than we do for our dog adoptions

We have another dog who has turned around greatly. Simone is a Maltese-Terrier mix who was very insecure and frightened when she arrived.

She has now gained a lot of confidence and follows me around like a little lamb. I plan to reshoot her portrait later today. I think that I can do better now that she isn't so fearful...
