Sony 16mm f/2.8 E - Manual Focus?
I have the subject lens. I am wondering if there is a way to make this lens go into manual focus. I am mounting this on my A6500 and I was thinking of using this for Astrophotography while out on the desert this fall and winter season.
Any thoughts on this?

You need to set the focus mode to manual in the camera. The easiest way to do this is to hit the Fn button and navigate to focus mode, then select MF.

I do not use Sony, but as I understand, that range of Sony Lenses all have FTMF (Full Time Manual Focus), so Manual Focus is available.
However if you want "manual focus only" (i.e. NO Auto Focus functionality) and there is no switch on the lens to select "manual only focus" you might need to activate a function such as "manual focus only" via the camera's menu.
I think the Camera and Lens's User Manual would be your friend.

Bill on my a6000, if the lens has a separate focus ring you can use a focus mode called DMF (direct manual focus) which allows you to fine tune the focus manually when you half press the shutter and achieve initial focus with AF.

Thanks, guys.Ill have to try this out tonight when I get home. Lately, the sunsets and skies have been pretty awesome so I figured I would try out this lens.
