This has much potential. If you decided whether the sand fence or the ocean tide was your main emphasis, then that could guide a crop that would move the image up a notch. Either way works.

Hi Judith and thanks for looking. To my mind it is the entirety of the image that works (at least for me). There is a 'layering' of dune, beach (two distinct strips), ocean and sky (two more distinct strips). I don't think there is enough interest to focus on the fence or waves alone. This is less a soloist and more a quartet kinda image :-)

Doesn't quite work for me. It's low in both contrast and saturation. I assume the latter is deliberate. However, to my eye, the combination of the two makes it drab. One option would be to desaturate entirely, if the patterns and not the colors are of interest. But one way or the other, I personally would want more contrast in tonality, color, or both.

Thanks for commenting Dan. Drab was what I was looking for, those days at the shore where everything is just drab, but I could agree it might be a bit too drab. I can go back and re-think the color version. I did try b&w but it didn't seem to work for me as there was even less contrast, or distinction between greys.
