I spotted this critter while on a drive to an area where eagles frequent. It's either a Cooper's Hawk or a Harrier.

Thanks for the comments. I had an interesting experience that day. After I took the pics I continued to drive down the road. This area is in the foothills of the Bighorn mountains and all that is there is ranch land. I came across a little calf walking down the middle of the road. His mother was on the other side of the fence keeping up with him. I could see where he escaped under the fence. I was able to pick the animal up and ease him over the fence into a snowbank where his mother was able to meet up with him. Happy ending.

Soon as I saw it, I thought...Rough Legged Hawk (also called Rough Legged Buzzard)

Thanks for the kind comments. These things don't normally let you get that close. I'm just glad the calf was okay. I don't think he was more than a few days old.
