An early pine marten
We are very lucky here because pine martens are visitors to the garden. However, to be honest if you are in the right area, put food out and the martens find it then sightings will be close to guaranteed.
In sixteen years in visiting this bit of NW Scotland I have had two sightings wild pine martens but hundreds of sightings of ones where food is provided.
We usually see pine martens in the evening or, via the trail camera, very late or in the early hours.
However, this one - he/she is one of last year's young - arrived around 8am today to interrupt the feeding of the birds. The hours of darkness are fairly short now (and getting shorter) so daytime views , while not common, are not that unusual.

Very good, and you have avoided getting over exposure on the nuts.

A very good image. I especially like the depth of field with the wooden feeder in focus as well as the Pine Marten's face while the distant parts of his coat are softer. That works very nicely, as does the pale background.

Re: An early pine marten
Very nice image; is it herbivorous? belongs to rodent family?
