    Butch Cassidy Country

We took a day trip to an area west of Kaycee, Wyoming where Butch Cassidy and the Hole in the Wall Gang hid from the law. The area is about 2 hours from out home. I can see why they hung out there. It is beautiful. We took the dogs and they got to run. Nikki was able to chase a few pheasants.

    Great series PD!

Your pups must be good with recall ... ours (1 year old today) aren't quite there yet!!
    It's our fault.

Still figuring out my favorite in your series

The place where he was supposedly killed in Bolivia was about 20 miles from this location:

    Train Graveyard

Lots of mining (and hence mine payrolls) to be robbed. Some of the largest silver mines were in the area too. There were a few notations about Butch Cassidy in this part of Bolivia.

Manfred, thanks. The movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has them meeting their creator in Bolivia while some historians have it in Argentina. Some even think Butch made it back to the USA.

Sharon, Nikki does very well with her recalls and Lois follows her. The Brittany Spaniels do not range very far. She did meet up with her first snake the other day on the trail. She was pretty cautious. We have Bull and Rattlesnakes here. Both are nasty animals.

    A few more shots.

    1. No sign that there was ever a campfire in this little ring at Outlaw Cave.

    2. Color photo of the outhouse

    3. Entrance to the trail to the river. The rocky structure in the middle if the frame is the rock wall on the
other side of the river. 750 feet, straight down. The river apparently is loaded with Cutthroat Trout.

Thanks and welcome to CiC. You will find a good bunch of very knowledgeable people here.

Rumor has it that Butch stashed some of his "earnings" in this area with the hope of returning for it once the smoke cleared.

Yesterday we went in a different direction. We went into the Bighorns to do some fly fishing. The water was too high but we did see a lot of moose. I don't have a lens long enough to get good pictures but I did watch them through a spotting scope. Here are a few pics.
