The chase

This is at the giant dog park in Coupeville, WA. We take the pups 2-3 times a week so they can run. They are up to about 1 hour hikes at a year old, but being working/sporting dogs they still need some time for free run. We do take them later in the evening, as the dog park we took them to in Anacortes when younger wasn't too great and we had some bad experiences, so our female especially is a bit timid and can do some snapping (can't tell if it's play initiation, stress or a combination). She's always been the timid puppy, so genetics play a role too. Still working on getting her better but for now empty dog parks are the best (dog parks in general are so hit or miss). On hikes (hopefully people have their dogs on leashes) I have her sit at the side of the trail and watch any dogs being walked by and talk to her. She's getting better.

Of course, the lighting was very low, so technically far from perfect, but I do love their expressions.

The blue ball is usually our boys favorite, but she decided to torment him for a bit with a chase.

Thank you sir. Yea it is yet it’s also part of the “story” as she definitely knows it will generate that chase.

Great captures... Not at all easy with two dogs running at an angle to the camera! I love them especially with the ball in the lead dog's mouth. I have seen chases like that numerous times and they always bring a smile to my heart...

Thanks for the comments. They are fun pups (and a lot of work at this stage).
I actually have started sitting on the ground when trying to get them in this environment. It does lend itself to two big puppies coming over to plow me over with kisses....

Outdoors, I find this gizmo handy for getting down to a dog's level and bracing my elbows on my knees also helps give a solid camera hold...
