    Lady with Mannequins

    Is the background too distracting?

My immediate reaction is "yes". The light areas definitely draw the viewer's eyes from your main subject, even though the background is out of focus.

I'd love to have seen this with the "lady" in line with the two mannequins, ie: facing the same way etc..

The white on the lady and manequins is burnt and it should not be, plus background not blurred enought.

Like Robert, I am more concerned about over exposure than the background.

She is facing the camera while the mannequins are looking at something else and are completely oblivious to the camera, as you would expect; so that doesn't really bother me. If they were all looking in the same direction that would also be fine with me, but it would create a different sort of scene.

The background is a busy area but it is well toned down so I can accept it as it is now.

Ditto. except that the background doesn't bother me. It provides context but the burned out areas on her blouse immediately catch my eye.

Background doesn't bother me either, the exposure and limited sharpness does however.

So, here is my more or less finished product, incorporating some suggestions. Only thing I can see that I don't like is some fringing. Have used defringer and given three passes with the chromatic aberration remover, but still there.
