The Old Fort Niagara
Visited Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, NY. This fort goes back to 1679 when the French built Fort Conti in this location, replaced by Fort Denonville on the same site in 1687 and finally by 'The French Castle' fort in 1726. This fort was held by French, British and finally American forces over its lifetime. In the parade ground three flags fly representing these nations.
This pic shows 2 British and one French military walking across the parade ground! All the staff are dressed in the colours of the military during the time of their control of the fort.
Here we have the Brits discussing military strategy in front of the French Castle.

Re: The Old Fort Niagara
What a remarkable mix of shapes and sizes in the stone for the wall in the first image, and yet the stepped tops still finished flat and horizontal.

Re: The Old Fort Niagara
Added a parting shot, this time showing visitors to the fort. Taken from near the visitors center.
