Amy and Peas

This image was taken indoors with natural light from above. It was not posed and I wanted to capture Amy's enjoyment and innocence. The speed at which I had to work meant I had to accept a slight loss of focus to the left of her face. I would welcome suggestions on the contrast, light and shadow as well as any other comments.

Nicely done image, although as you have noted there are areas that are a bit soft due to the very low shutter speed. There is no need to shoot at ISO 100. In that type of shooting situation, pushing the ISO higher to give you a bit more shutter speed and depth of field would have been the first thing I would have done.

Overall the image is a touch "hot" and has a slight orange (red / yellow) colour cast. I would have fixed both of those and would crop a bit to remove some of the green balls and concentrate more on your subject.

Thanks Peter and Jim. I think I should have focused on the closest side of Amy's face (her right eye) rather than the centre of her forehead. I'm still trying to get my little granddaughter to pose for a few seconds without giggling!
