Can I welcome you to the CiC forum. Great to have you.
I hope you enjoy it and if you have any photographic questions, ask away. Hopefully there will always be at least one person on here who will be able to shine the light for you.
One thing you could do - Go into Settings (on the menu at the top of the page) and put in your location. That way whenever you post, people can see where in the world you are. Enjoy the journey!!
Hello all, My name is Bud. I live in the desert foothills in Southern California. Our community comprises about 300 homes and some very talented photographers as well. Photography has been a lifetime passion for me since my 10th year of school. I have been very fortunate to be able to study with some of renown paragons of the photographic arts. Unfortunately - their talents haven't transferred as much as I would have liked. So I am still a student and learn a tad more whenever I pick up my camera. I use a Pentax K3, with a small assortment of lenses primarily. I love landscapes and I have recently rediscovered black and white again as I try to mimic the old masters. I hope that looking at your posts, I will be inspired.
As Donald says, If you are new to photography and want to learn, please ask a question and when applicable add an image. Often a perfect photograph just gets a few 'that looks good' comments but something like 'I don't understand how to do this' or 'How can I improve this image' will generate a long list of helpful advice.

HELP THREAD: How can I post images here?
Most members prefer to link their images from one of the many photo hosting sites.
Most of us here are students; we are just at different stages.
Hello,

Hi my name is Andrea. I'm fairly new to using a DSLR camera. I'm self taught and have decent gear. I use the Canon rebel t6 and mostly do indoor staged shoots. I've been getting used to lightroom and love it.
I do have alot of questions...an awful lot.
Hi - thanks so much for this site! I love photography, but have become lazy about a lot of things, hoping to at least get my photo-mojo back in 2020!

Hi,
This is Satya Sundar Ghosh from my beautiful country India. I am extremely interested into the field of the photography. Though I am slightly a late comer, I am gradually trying to understand the beauty, art, science and aesthetics of it. Its' a huge ocean though.... I am slowly trying to get a the grip of it. Though my main interest lies in the field of post processing, the entire subject definitely surprises me everyday.
I live in a metropolitan city called Kolkata located in the state of West Bengal situated at the eastern part of India, and hence have very little opportunity to shoot landscapes staying here which I am mostly interested in. Hence most of the time I am shooting people, portraits, human interest, travel, street photography. Most important, my love for the subject does not disappoint me at all. Whatever I shoot it enlightens me.
Hello Andrea, and a warm welcome. If you have lots of questions then ask away - I can pretty much guarantee that someone here can answer them. As we say here, the only dumb question is the one that you don't ask.
It would be good if you could add your general location to your profile.
Regards, Dave
Hello and welcome from your beautiful and fascinating country. We have a number of members from India, and many more (including myself) have travelled there.
This is a learning community and we all learn from each other so please share whatever you wish.
I hope we will soon be seeing some of your Kolkata images.
Best regards, Dave
