Hit and Miss 2020 Project Thread - Skitterbug aka Sandy

I know that if I don't motivate myself with an obligation even though this is a fun one, I won't be very dedicated. Hopefully it is okay that I don't list it as a P52 because I doubt that I'll get images posted every week. But I do want to keep my work in one place and try to keep this thread current.

The images I post may come from various time periods. And as John suggested (Shadowman) I can sort back through files and maybe re-edit (practice post processing) or re-think (make my brain work! YIKES) about what I attempted to do. And I think too, maybe I can even revisit the places that I've been and try to recompose a better shot.

All suggestions will indeed be welcome! I've learned a lot from this group of wonderful and talented people! Thank you!

So now the weather has to improve a bit and my thinking cap has to be put on - time to begin a new year of 2020!

It has been dreary here. I happened to notice water hanging from these crab apples and wondered if there might be an image for me there. I use a lot of the images on the greeting cards that I send out so my thinking is that maybe this one could be used for a somber one. I may have to brighten it a bit if I want to print it. I am pleased that I caught the rain falling (faintly) in the background. Suggestions for improvement? Yep, always appreciated!

Nice scene to begin your artistic exploration, also like the rain as an added element.

Nice shot, the main rain streaks are exactly on the diagonal of the frame, works very well.

Hi John - It is a beginning! I would have liked to try out the camera cover and be directly in the rain capturing the scene just to see how it worked, but the rain was a very cold one so I avoided it. Call me wimpy! LOL

Hi David - I have to admit that I didn't really spot the layout of the rain in those terms. I can only say that I was pleased with the look of it. If you had asked me to say why I liked it, I would have been hard pressed to put my reasons into words. Thanks for the comment!

Chocolate is always chocolate, Christmas or not... curiously I do not know if you are aware that chocolate in US has different flavour from the one in Europe. As far as I know, anyway. I did not know this fact but my son told me as he lives in your country.
    Let's move on.

I see you are beginning to take photographs in 2020. Good ! What a sweet start !
Chocolate with a cup of coffee or just it, simple ?
How was is presented ? I mean, in a metallic box or a paper one ? Can we see it or is it already trashed ?
    Huuummm nice chocolate colour...

Hi Antonio - I can't say anything about flavors of chocolate other than we have dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate. Chocolate made by various candy makers will taste differently. Some more rich, etc. This was a 10 pound bar from Marie's Candies in West Liberty, Ohio. I didn't take an image of it as a bar this time because I have some of those pictures from a few years ago when we received it as a gift too. (yep, the person giving this gift knows we like chocolate). Hubby was chopping on the bar before I realized that he had plans to break it into pieces. It all ended up in a yellow plastic bowl and I took a few pics of it in the bowl but I didn't care for the results. So I then decided to crop and show it as a cascading mound of chocolate chunks and pieces. I liked the texture and the chaos.
Hope I answered your post and I appreciate your comments very much!

I forgot to say that I enjoy chocolate with coffee. I also like it with a cold glass of milk! Or I can simply munch it as is. Chocolate is good any way I can get it! <chuckle>

Just starting to develop chocolate bloom, the whitish coating that forms over time, doesn't affect the taste though so enjoy. Nicely captured.

Hi John - we found that we can freeze it too so long as we put it in the refrigerator for 24 hours and then into the freezer. We have to reverse the process when we want to bring some back out to enjoy! You are correct - it still tastes delicious even if the little bit of white coating starts. Thanks for the comments!

Hi Nandakumar - I wonder what it is about chocolate that so many of us like the stuff? The only other candy that tops it, in my opinion, is home made caramels!
    Thanks for your comment!

The chocolate could almost be taken for pile of fallen masonry. One of the Liverpool cathedrals, for example, has stonework in not dissimilar colours.
