    Rainy season ?
No one seems to know, but the lake level does rise and fall over time. There are two rivers that drain the lake and more drainage seems to be subterranean. The lake itself is an ancient volcanic caldera; there are three volcanos on the lake. Many have said it is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Doors, openings ! Beautiful, decayed... whatever

The San Pedro volcano, the one in the middle of the image, is thought to be extinct. but the two on the left, Tolman and Atitlan, are thought to be active. We stayed in the town (San Pedro la Laguna) that can be seen at the base on the San Pedro volcano. We know a photographer who spends every winter in that town told us that the lake level dropped back to normal the year after our visit.

No pool at the hotel, but we were told it was the nicest hotel in town. Definitely not 5-star. but clean and decent rooms and food.

    Re: Bump

I understand from an Indian photographer friend, pictures are no longer allowed without a photography permit at the Harmandir Sahib (commonly known as the "Golden Temple" in the West).

We stayed just across the street from the entrance and photographically, absolutely stunning at night (no tripods allowed without a permit), so I had to hand-hold.

Nice Manfred picture, but lacking sharpness, which is normal considering the shooting conditions.
In this case, I use a method described (with particuar humor by Arnaud Thiry) in this video in French (sorry, the equivalent probably exists in English) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlIXhWvfqAg.
I rapidely checked for a video in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c17MCm4lXcE, may be not the best but it's OK.
It works very well, I've experimented it several times with very good results like here

Doors, openings ! Beautiful, decayed... whatever

about fifteen photos taken (with a Fuji X-T1) in burst, hand held at 6400 ISO 1/60s f:4 and then processed according to the method described in the video. Noise reduction and sharpness were really improved.

Interesting technique (one of many) that uses image stacking. I'm going to have to explore it as it definitely has potential.

My first impression is that the image looks over sharpened, so I'm not totally in love with the look.

    Re: Positive | Negative

Hi Antonio, most interesting. It occurs to me that as an alternative it could be presented as a "mirror image.

    Urban Decay

    Thank you for commenting !
Indeed, it is a mirror image: positive/negative
This image belongs to the photographic project "Urban Decay" where I developed the concept of degraded areas in two aspects.
    One more image bellow.
