    After the storms

We had some big thunderstorms here last evening in Montréal, and after they passed the sky was filled with the most dramatic clouds I've ever seen here.

A beautiful cloudscape...have you tried enhancing contrast; not sure whether that will increase the quality...

    Re: After the storms

Thanks -- I did a fair bit of work on it in post but tried to keep it realistic while retaining a painterly quality. The main issue is that I didn't quite nail the focus -- I used a 50-year-old Minolta Rokkor lens (55mm) and I've only had it a few weeks; I've mainly used it for portraits and intimate landscapes so I've never actually experimented to see if it focuses beyond infinity. So I didn't try the hard stop and backed it off a bit (it's REALLY hard to manually focus on clouds!). I'll try some experiments later to see if the hard stop is indeed focused at infinity or if it goes beyond, which will help in the future.

Paradoxically, decreasing the contrast on this image makes it pop a lot more. I kind of like it so will repost, thanks for the suggestion!
