Fall
Another old image that I reworked today, taken on a local walking trail a short drive from home. This is what my part of the world will look like in the mid to late October period. We live close to the boundary of where the Eastern woodlands and Boreal Forest ecological areas meet. This path leads toward the Ottawa River.
While there are some leaves on the ground, the majority of the trees in this shot are Tamarack (also called Larch). These are a deciduous conifer that loses its needles in the fall. I keep meaning to get out and photograph the time between when the leaves fall and the snow come. Last year that happened almost overnight. I hope for a bit of a longer transition this year.

Re: Fall
Fine work. The closer you look, the more you see. And the more you want to be there.

Re: Fall
Will be interesting to see an image of the Larch in autumnal glory to compare. This one may might end up superior due to the ability to see deeper into the forest and the interesting branch structure.
I hope you can time the foliage this year. Always a problem if you are not on site to monitor.

Re: Fall
I love how all those thin branches sweep upwards towards the center of the image.. Any thoughts on using this for a composition?
