    Mid-Fall Layers

My wife and I went for a short outing to the Mer Bleue Bog this afternoon.

One view that really struck me was the layers of colours from one of the vantage points:

From bottom to top; bullrushes, water, bull rushes, tamarack trees with brilliant yellow needles, evergreens and finally the sky.

Very nice. The contrasting colors are excellent.

Six layers of colours and it works for me.

What a difference a month can do. When I was there exactly one month ago the larch were green and the ever green where hidden by the colourful foliage of the deciduous trees. Yet, the six distinct layers were all there.

It's pretty cool seeing both images. Looks like the exact same spot with a couple of trees in the middle. Time does change everything.
I like the layered look, Manfred.

Yes a month did make a lot of difference in the colours. I purposefully wanted to avoid the trees and see to have been a bit more on the left to where you shot as I chose a shooting position and focal length that put the trees on either side just out of frame (I cropped the top of my image, but not the sides)

I purposefully wanted the tree in the shot. A typical case of one scene; two photographers
