No Ted, that scorpion like tail is the male genital area. Markings on the tail are needed to provide a definite identification to species. Females just have a plain pointed tail. It can be tricky to see the exact required angle in a photo though.
I tend to get a lot of over exposed areas with shots of them so these are good images.
