    Frosted Tree, Fog

This image of a hoar frosted Red Birch was captured last week along a river bank in thick ice fog conditions. Visibility was not much more than 100 yards.

Very well done. Love the simplicity and beauty. I wonder what it would look like in B&W. Just more curious than anything else.

    A very nice image.

I tried it in B&W. I think the color is more interesting because the color of the grass is an interesting part of the composition.

I do see a choice here. The title references fog and frost. Fog suggests a limited tonal range, but frost doesn't (to me). As posted, this image has a limited tonal range. To illustrate the choice, I expanded the tonal range with a levels tool by bring up the black point and then dropping the midpoint so as not to darken the whole image. A curve would offer more flexibility, but this is enough to illustrate the choice:

Thanks to Sharon and Dan for taking the time to comment. When editing, I did fiddle with a B&W conversion but was happier with the color.

Agree. The grass adds an element to the photo. Like Dan's edit.
