    Para-Badminton

This is not my usual genre, but it's always interesting to learn...

I spent a good part of the day shooting Para-Badminton at the University of Ottawa. This is a Class 1 tournament and many of the participants was medal winners from the recent para-Olympics. It was humbling to watch these world class athletes playing at an amazing level.

I'll be back there tomorrow, hopefully with some even stronger images.

Excellent images Both artistically and promoting the athletes.

    Good action shots Manfred.

Tighter crops and increased subject isolation is worth considering to give them more impact.

Congrats, on having a go, Manfred. Whilst I really like these images, would be keen to see both in B&W - think that would produce good results.

Thanks for the comments and I will definitely look at some of your suggestions when I get more time. Today are the finals, so I will be heading out to shoot there again.

Here is a sampling of some shots taken at my second day of shooting.

    Hi Manfred,
Consider your timing, in so far as striving to get the Shuttlecock, in as many frames as possible.

Indeed that is what I was trying to do. These are para-Olympic medalists / World class athletes and are they ever fast! I was definitely trying to do just that. One of the photographers there was the official Badminton World Federation official photographer and he had very few with the shuttlecock in the frame.

I did capture a number of images with the shuttlecock in play, for instance...

It's one of the two reasons many want a Z9, 20fps upwards gives more chances of getting the shot
