Hard to visually separate the top of the figures from the very bright and busy background. maybe you could tone those down--e.g., select the people by color and invert the mask.
Unfortunately, even though there is no connection whatever, this has for me an unpleasant resemblance to the KKK.
Interesting subject matter, but the scene is just too busy to work for me. I understand that you can't do anything about the light, but it is quite hard. I wonder if a tighter crop of just one of the penitents would have made for a stronger image?
I've tried 3 times to add a reply with a photo, but the image refuses to display. I'll come back tomorrow !
Yes, the light was too harsh and the background too cluttered, but I thought the subject merited the shot.
The best photos of the day were taken in the shade of the huge collegiate church before the procession started. I had gone there to find some shade from the 30°C+ temperature and found a large number of the actors there for the same reason.
A very nice series. When it is 30C+ I tend to hide out in air-conditioned spaces and work on still life images...
The third one is the strongest, in my view. I wonder if a tighter crop without the left-most figure might be worth considering?
