    Dancing on the terrace

One of my movement series revisited.

    Dancing on the terrace

The dancer was shot in studio using a mixture of continuous light and flash to emphasise movement, a stock background was then added in post.

I like it - thanks for posting. You say it is a revisit - is it possible to see the original, or at least a description of the changes?

Nicely done piece. I've done these ambient light / flash / second curtain / drag the shutter shots in the past. You need a very wide studio to be successful, in my experience.

I like the version with the background that has been composited in. It is definitely more interesting than the original shot.

As you say Manfred, you need a wide space. I managed to beg the use of a theatre for the evening, a 12m wide stage and free of charge too.

A very well done and very engaging image.

I actually like the original better. The added background doesn’t look real to me, and I think it distracts from the simple and beautiful forms in the image.

Thank you for posting the original David. Which do I prefer? Two great images but it comes down to drama - v- interest and I'm with Dan in (slightly) preferring the original.
