A photo would help
Yes it would!
The picture is back now but I don't for how long it will stay. My internet service provider is migrating to a different data centre. The move was supposed to be seamless for users but...
The current plan is for the move to be completed by November 20. In the mean time, if the picture disappears again, keep trying periodically. The problem should be fixed permanently in a week or so.
Thanks for your patience.
Nice alternative interpretation. After several a/b comparisons, I prefer the darker shadows on the lower part of the bloom.
I had an opportunity to watch the video on selective colour adjustment in photoshop. I used it on this picture and found it very useful. It might even displace vibrance and saturation sliders in my workflow. Thanks for the link.
Glad you’re finding it useful.
I often find post processing techniques that are helpful, but it’s not often that I find one that fundamentally changes what I do with some images. I think this may turn out to be one. Another was when Manfred shared his technique for dodging and burning with curves, masks, and brushes. A third was realizing that one can do tonality adjustments that don’t affect saturation without bothering with lab L*a*b mode by using the luminosity blend mode. (This last is now incorporated into Lightroom’s curves tool in the form of the saturation slider underneath it.)
