Don't joke ... I just ordered 2x Elinchrom RX1200 complete with both octa and large rectangular softboxes last week ... to be triggered with 3 pocket wizards!

In terms of lighting, I'm hanging on to it (4x 580 II + 4x CP-E4 + 4x TT5 PWs) because they're good for high speed sync (ie outdoors stuff where you need a high shutterspeed) - the Elinchroms are pretty powerful units - so the hope is that they'll recycle very quickly at lower power settings so that I can do more "action freezes" inside ... that's the theory anyway :)

The only suggestion for improvement I can give is to remove the slight shadow that is being cast on the background. I'd also consider cloaning out his left ear - it's bearly showing, and would probebly look better not shown at all.

He is too leaned, too much clockwise.

I would crop again rotating counter clockwise a bit.

I was bored, so I have it a 29 second makeover (lol). I did what I mentioned in the earlier post - removed the shadow and the left ear. I also added a subtle vertical grad to help draw the eye towards the face.

Thanks a lot, Kent. You cut my son's ear? :eek:

But it looks good. Specially the shadow was too distracting.

Hmm... Colin, does the Mrs. ask when deliveryman comes a calling with your new toys? Are you having problems with 580 and Pocket wizards? There's been plenty of bad, bad things written about the radio interference from the strobes messing with the radio slave's effective range.

Or is that the excuse to get more toys??:rolleyes::D

Hi Pete, I had a good read of all the reported problems, and have to admit to being a bit nervous - but luckily my fears turned out to be pretty groundless. Part of the reason is that the European version operates on different frequencies and are less affected by the noise. The other thing to consider is how often do people need to trigger strobes that are so far away that they're practically in a different time zone?

It also took me a wee while to get my head around using them - they drove me nuts for the first day (I was convinced that mine were faulty), but finally I realised how they need to be setup and used ... there are definately a few "gotchas", but happy to report that we're good friends now :)

Funny you should mention that - I'm expecting 3x Elinchrom Style RX1200's, light stands, large and small softboxes, umbrellas, skyports, grids, and barn doors this week :)

He is getting there Pete. More and more recently. Not yet ready for a photoshoot session. As soon as we get to friendly, he wants to take pictures with my camera and everything ends. :)
