Re: A Mono Image from 2021
Indeed, Philip. The trees, the spaces between them and the fact that one is on each side of the path, plus the path itself all contribute to the sense of depth achieved in the frame and they pull the eye towards the church. Good composition.
Re: A Mono Image from 2021
Thank you, Donald.

Re: A Mono Image from 2021
Plus one to Donald's comment. I also think that the light on the church pulls the eyes toward it and contributes to the 3D effect. Well done.
Re: A Mono Image from 2021
I echo Donald's comments too, Philip. Very good!
Re: A Mono Image from 2021

I edited the image only in monochrome at the time, but here's a quick colour edit:

Re: A Mono Image from 2021
Thanks for posting the coloured version Philip. I really like the depth of both images. Given that you are using a crop sensor camera, the 40mm focal length has worked remarkably well. This depth is something that is usually associated with a wide angle lens.
I slightly prefer the B&W version over the colour one.
Re: A Mono Image from 2021
I particularly like the monochrome image because of the mood it evokes .... a feeling of solemnity.
Re: A Mono Image from 2021
I liked both, yes, your effort on monochrome is praiseworthy
Re: A Mono Image from 2021
Thank you, Manfred, Martin and again Nandakumar.
(I prefer the mono version.)
Cheers.
