To be specific its the view through the viewfinder of my D300s as seen by the iPhone 4.

I think this can be called "viewfinder art".
I wonder why Nikon decided to superimpose 4 lines instead of 3 to make it work as a rule of third guide. I have the same 4 dividers on my antique D70.

Always wondered that - seems an odd choice, also it would be an easy menu option to give a user choice.
