SOPHIE - The Aussie Doodle
Sophie is a three year old Australian Multigenerational Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever + Standard Poodle) that we are fostering during her recovery from kidney stone surgery while she is waiting for a new adoptive home (if we can part with her that is).
She has been professionally trained and is the most mellow, friendly and loving dog possible.
When her previous owners found out that she needed kidney stone surgery, they told the vet to put her down. The vet called Doodle Rescue Incorporated and the organization paid for her surgery.
Judy and I have own own Doodle (3 year old Goldendoodle) and are heavily involved with Maltese dog rescue. Up to now, all we have done with Doodle Rescue is to transport dogs from place to place in Southern California. This is the first Doodle we have fostered but, will not be the last.
I look at my own Doodle who is the same age as Sophie and could never consider putting her down. I am so glad that the vet stepped in to save the life of this wonderful dog.

Re: SOPHIE - The Aussie Doodle
You have a good heart Richard and I commend you for rescuing Sophie. You're right, there are really dog owners who just turn their backs when they know their pets got sick and I think they don't deserve their(dogs) unconditional love. Job well done. Sophie looks very happy now and loved.

Re: SOPHIE - The Aussie Doodle
That is a great story. I have an Aussie Aussie that would step in front of a train for me and I for her! The picture is great but your efforts as a loving dog person are even better. Kudos!
