Brilliant shot, Rob!
Focus stacking is one thing I am yet to try. I am waiting to have a better lighting setup first.
Very nice work!

Kits as in lens filter? I was tempted to give it a try also. Did you use CS5 or something else? Nice image.
Love the colors, and the clarity in this. Beautiful shot, Rob.
What is the overall depth that you were dealing with, and what aperture setting did you use? Normally I can see the exif data for your image, but for this one it seems to be blocked.
The EXIF is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/carregw...n/photostream/ Sometimes you may not see it with a stacked shot, as it's a composite. I'm on a laptop at present so I can't look properly. The overall depth of field captured was about 10mm.
Thanks, Rob. Would the difference in images be discernible if you had stopped down to f/16 or f/22 to cover the entire depth in the circle of confusion?
On it's own, it wouldn't have made any discernable difference changing from f/8 to f/16. But with photography, as with all things in life, success is often a series of cumulative small improvement steps, that taken together culminate in something better. Other may disagree, but I'm
