Hey, Shannon, Submit this shot on the composition assignment of yours! If I were your teacher I'd give you a high grade for this. Hahaha! Did you see the catchlight in her eyes?... awesome!
A great expression on her face! Nice capture!
Thanks Willie, I can't submit it unfortunately .. we can only submit photos from the location we were at. Which was another nature place.. I don't enjoy taking nature pictures that much lol, But I try my best.. I like taking people the best. Thanks for the compliment.. it makes me very happy especially coming from you because I admire your work very much!
Thanks Frank..!! must be my lucky day.. two compliments from people's work I admire.
Shannon. I agree Frank and Jiro. Great capture
John
Thank you so much John, Now I wish I was able to hand this one in for school.
You may not be able to hand it in now but A BEAUTIFUL addition to your portfolio! And I think the lighting is great, the wisps of hair, the facial structure. And this is without photoshop, right?
NO I don't know how to use, photoshop yet. I know how to change the exposure a bit and that's about it. I was lucky that the lights they had up the chimney happened to be shining right on her face. It was like we were inside a black tunnel. Thanks for your comments I will keep that in my folder of pictures I want to photoshop someday when I learn how.
I don't think you need to PS it. I was trying to say I love it and you didnt even have to PS it.
THANKS!!! That was really kind of you to say Henry.
very fine timing and composition but to me it seems that the focus is out. The top of the frame is the sharpest area? neil
I think you are right Neil.
Now this is getting annoying. The first time it happened, I thought it was me. But twice .....!!?
I did post a response and now it's gone! Weird. Anyway, I've alerted Sean.
What I did say (I think) is that this is a beauty. Even without the constraints that you had this is a very good image. Given where you were and the difficulties of that, it is an excellent piece of work. The range and richness of tone across the image is there. Any issue of the focal point being in the wrong place is, I think, absolutely minimal and does not detract from the image. And the B & W rendering is spot on.
Well done.
And if you see this and then it disappears, could you confirm that it's not only me.
Wow Thanks Donald and Abhi, I can see your post Donald, I will check back to see if It disappears, I was feeling a bit down after my class photoshoot, so this perks me up.. Thanks everyone. I have another class photoshoot tonight at a different location.. Wish me luck!!
I don't know, one thing I liked was the sharp background - gave a sense of place...
Good photo.
Though I'm wondering what all you have shot inside a chimney?
HAHA ! Thanks, It will probably be the "only" photo I ever take inside a chimney. But then you never know.
