What could I do to make this image better?? Took this while walking the dog,It's the walls in an underpass.

Whoa - the optical illusion this creates when scrolling the page quickly is kind of neat!

It looks quite on the very soft to out of focus to my screen eyes.

The sharpest focus seems to be about 1/3 of the distance in from the right edge which makes the extreme right side appear a little soft.

I would be tempted to focus on the closest point and allow everything behind that to gradually blur.

I honestly don't have a clue about ISO, aperture etc etc.....right now I'm point,focus,shoot Been reading the guides etc on here but end up trying to take in too much at once and end up with a brain like mush lol

Irrespective of the technicalities (and, yes, getting to grips with Aperure, Shutter, ISO will become increasingly important as you strive to develop), the fact is that you 'saw' this image. The above stuff can be taught and learnt. Whilst we can learn to 'see' to some extent, there has to be, I believe, an innate ability there in the first place. And you've got it. Otherwise you wouldn't have 'seen' this picture.

So, keep going. The mush will begin to take shape and become crystal clear through some hard work and effort.

That explains it then, F4 is very shallow for something like this.

I would have probably used the Aperture priority setting and used F8 or F11 to add a bit more 'depth' to the sharp focus area.

All of those 'complicated' dials and options will eventually start to make sense.

This is an interesting scene and possibly just doing a little bit of extra sharpening will make it work well.
