B&W conversion

Hi all. I converted this image to B&W using Paintshop Pro X2. The first image was my first try, the second(IMGP6609A). I feel like the second try was the best. I just used the "clarify" option on the first image.Still learning the PSPX2. Lots of fun. Any C&C is welcome.Thanks, Joe

Hi, the 1st one is EMPASTADA (in spanish) idk in english, the 2nd one is better to me.

Hi Joe,

The second is an improvement on the first. I think a little sharpening will help to define the contrast areas more and make the image stronger. I like the subject and the angle of the shot.

heres my 3rd try.I added +3 to"clarify" and added some sharpness. I like this one alot better. I see that it does define alot more. Thanks.

the 3th attemp is very good but due the resolution is hard to see more detail. maybe in color this shot looks good too.

empastada means low contrast in a b&w image, you fixed it in the last try,.

The original image shows low contrast, that's why your conversion was flat.

the good thing is that you noticed and fixed it before knowing this concept.
