A very nice and soothing image, Peter. I like how you kept that small boat within the frame to show the vastness of the sea. The word Corcovada reminded me of Astrud Gilberto singing the lovely song "Corcovado".
Peter, I'm still learning myself, but this caught my eye. I really like it. Did you enhance the color some or is this natural?
Thanks for viewing Willie. You picked up on the themes I was trying to convey - being the vastness and how small we really are in the universe.
Lovely shot. Oh how I miss Costa Rica.
Hi Bob,
I normally shoot sunsets on the Cloudy white balance setting because Auto WB adds blue to counteract the warm colours of a sunset and can make sunsets rather flat and uninteresting. In this case the colour was pretty strong as there was a haze offshore so I used the Daylight setting. I have my camera set to shoot slightly warmer (around 200 MIR) on most white balance settings because I find Nikons generally shoot a bit cool anyway. Then there is always PS in ACR if I miss anything. Apart from that just Clarity, contrast and sharpening. I hope this helps.
Thanks Michael. Have a look at my web site for more shots of Costa Rica. I just updated the site from the trip.
Beautiful shot, Peter.
Thanks Abhi. I have to admit it was beautiful taking it as well. Great spot.
