    Beautiful Ireland

Have just aquired PS elements (yes I know, what took me so long) and decided to re-visit a few shots from a trip to Ireland last year. The garden shot is straight from the camera whereas the others have had a little pp in PS with the DynamicPhotoHDR plug-in.

For your enjoyment, comment, disdain, despair or whatever.

    Cheers Dave

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

For enjoyment for me, Dave. Good detail and color saturation. #2 and #4 are my favorite from the series.

Very nice shots, those cliffs look very dangerous.

Yes I believe the Cliffs of Moher have claimed quite a few lives. The area in my photo is fenced off at the top of the cliffs but this doesn't seem to stop people going in to that area and venturing far closer to the edge than they shoould.

I love the color of the ocean at the Dingle Peninsular and the majesty of the Cliffs of Moher! Not sure which way is East/West but these shots would be even more fantastic at sunrise or sunset!

The first shot of Dingle peninsular (Slea Head) would have been taken roughly facing west at about 6PM in May I think. Sunset was still a way off though.

The shot of the Cliffs of Moher was taken around the middle of the day looking just west of south from the main lookout area.

Lovely shots. As with Willie, I like #2 and #4 the best. I wonder if a polarizer might not have deepened the skies a bit to avoid the sort of washed out look. The CPL might have increased the saturation of the ocean also by cutting down the reflections.

    Re: Beautiful Ireland

Thanks Richard. I think a polarising filter would have helped particularly with shots 1 and 4. However I only had a travel compact with me (Panasonic TZ7 or ZS3) and this wasn't possible. The lighting conditions for shot 4 weren't ideal as the sun was in the wrong position but my wife wouldn't let me wait around all day ! Bracketed exposure shots followed by image blending would have been useful for this also.

    Cheers Dave

Yes it is. It was once attached to Scotland, but we let some of the good bits float away with the continental drift.

It's okay, I've a got a foot in both camps. My mum was from Ireland.

Thats sounds like quite a drift.
How is Scotland? As spooky as its told to be?

No, not at all. It's populated exclusively by warm, cuddly, caring people just like me!

    Ha!
Then my cousin was ripped off of a few euros for nothing. But the tour guide really scared the hell out of the group. They were taken down to some dungeons.
I was told that the way she was narrating the whole thing was too scary.
