The exposure was not too bad on this one, a few blown highlights above the trees and at the horizon, trees by themselves can be somewhat difficult to get in focus especially if the wind is blowing. What type of lens were you using and what settings (aperture, iSO, and shutter speed) did you use?
For a photo such as this, with the tree being so dominant, try to get all of it in the frame. It looks like you shot in landscape to get the height of the tree, so step back a bit or zoom out if using a telephoto.
it looks like you have the Nikon D60 and are using the 70-300mm lens and you are using PAINT as your editing software, am I correct? This image was shot at 220mm, f/5.6, ISO 200. The exposure was better on this image but the overall sharpness is lacking. Are you shooting handheld or with a tripod. Try setting the camera to f/11 which is where that lens performs best. You may get a darker image so you can compensate with a slightly faster shutter speed. If you are handholding and zoomed out to 200mm, you should be able to hold steady at 1/200 of a sec.
Hi John
How do you know all that? Yes am learning how to use paint to edit.
All the photos yesterday were hand held. Will go have another fiddle this avo, try what you suggested and see what happens
The image has Exchangeable_image_file_format (EXIF) data embedded. You can view the EXIF data through browser plug-ins or from various websites EXIF Viewer
This data tells people alot about how you took the shot (camera, lens, range, focus, etc.)
