All thee of these were taken with my new Nikkor 55-300 lens. All were taken in low light (5:00am) or in my office with one ceiling fan light. All are handheld.
Blue Jay5.3 1/640 240mm ISO 200 (definitely need to increas DoF) as bird is nicely sharp at the tail and a bit fuzzy at the head.
Mimosa 300mm 6.3 1/160 iso 200
Pentax spotmeter, 60w ceiling fan light, handheld, 5.6 1/10 iso 800, 300mm

Hi, i don't know what are you testing in this set so i can't give you feedback about these photos. The resolution doesn't help either.
At a glance i can't see focused images maybe due the conditions you mentioned. Try to post in higher resolution.

That's a flower from a Mimosa tree. They bloom for about a month, starting in mid May.

I have never heard of a Mimosa tree, I am going to google it..
