Re: New camera, full frame or stick to the DX crop?
Having used the now aged D200 alongside the also now aged D3, there was a very noticeable difference between DX and FF. However, that didnt mean I didnt get superb shots out of the D200 and at the end of the day it is the glass that really matters. Moving up Nikons first full frame dsrl meant that I had the pain of upgrading lenses to match the FF capability.
So I would recommend going for the DX camera now but building your lens collection over the next few years, by which time you may be ready for the jump to FF.

Re: New camera, full frame or stick to the DX crop?
This is a very good article. I was about to trade in my D300 and buy the D700. I think I'll wait a bit and enjoy the D300 which is perfect for my needs.
And now I have $$ to add a new lens to my collection that includes the DX fisheye, 80-400 and 18-200 and the New SB900
Im happy and just a novice amature photographer and teacher.
