I like them all, especially the alien like third image.
They're all great, Robin, but ....I like #2 best!
Hi Robin,
#3 for me, followed by #2.
#1, while technically fine, just seems to be missing something compositionally, perhaps a more diagonal view?
I wonder if the contrast could have been stretched a little more on #2?
Looking at a luminance histogram, there seems to be nothing below 40 and above 200 (of 255). I appreciate it would not suit a full range, given the lighting.
Cheers,
Thanks all.
Dave I know what you mean about no.1 - I've a diagonal shot too but went with the central one as symmetrical comps are kind of my thing - you might be right though so I'll get on it.
With the grasses I was going for flare and low contrast - surprisingly difficult with modern lenses - takes me back to the 70's and 126 film.
Had a great morning but summer is not the time to shoot the sunrise, if you're interested in setting your alarm to have a go its at half four and you need to be at your location at least a hour before to get the best shot....frankly I'm dead on my feet now. Maybe I shouldn't have done it the day after a late night shoot running well past midnight....the sacrifices we make for our art
