Query: Metering mode Matrix

Hello Forum,

I don't have the metering mode 'Matrix' in Samsung NX11 . Is the metering mode multi , available in Samsung NX11, works similar to 'Matrix' mode in Canon or Nikon ?

Hi Kaushik,

In Canon terminology it's called "evaluative". Not totally sure of the answer here, but since Matrix (Nikon) and Evaluative (Canon) essentially mean "Consider everything in the scene" then "Multi" would suggest to me that it's probably similar.

I am also assuming the same as the name suggests but unfortunately the manual shipped with the camera doesn't state that explicitly.

They do say "Multi: TTL 247 (19 X 13) Block segment metering", so it suggests the same kind of metering as old-fashioned Nikon matrix gives you. But whether it is comparable to the modern Nikon matrix I don't know (see http://www.pixiq.com/article/nikon-matrix-metering for more information on Nikon).
