Thanks for the compliments I am a beginner with a DSLR so it helps my confidence no end.

Bootsy your images are right up my street. The derelict places are fast disappearing in this neck of the woods. There are a still couple of navy camps around so i might try to get permission to enter. We were practically next door to a major derelict ordnance factory when I was a kid and I spent years exploring these places. It has sort of stuck with me. What I would really like to get on film is the last B17 hanger at the Burtonwood site (Warrington UK)...sadly it is to be demolished.

Usually it's a limitation of free accounts - you pay them money and the "problem" goes away.

I'll insert the thumbnail inline for you in the meantime ...

    Hi Colin,
I did it with a layers technique I read in Scott Kelby's book "Photoshop Elements 7".I created a levels adjustment layer with foreground color set to black. Then created a gradient map adjustment layer.Made adjustments to the RGB channels until the photo looked good to me.Then flattened the image.
    Regards,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,

I think there must be at least 100 ways to do these conversions! I quite often use LAB colour mode - discard the A & B channels - duplicate the remaining L channel - set the blending mode to multiply and then vary the opacity to suit (other blending modes can also be used).

That is a really nice image in my opinion.
