More practice shots with the Nikkor 50 mm. This was shot at the top of a staircase using ambient light from the window below. I should have bounced it, but I was too lazy at the time.

I took this pinkish orchid outside to shoot for the sake of more light, but I do not like it against green, so I have given it a b&w treatment.

Well these are way too good for practice shots.
Shutter speed of the first shot is 1.3 seconds, was it taken hand-held? Pretty sharp for a hand-held shot.
Its well composed shot.

Thank you for the compliment, Sahil. As far as hand-holding goes, no, that first one was shot on the tripod, using the timer, I think.

Thank you, Peter. I am a little less flustered when faced with shooting decisions than I used to be, and more deliberate. I "feel" I am making progress, so it is good to know that it shows.
