There are nice pics Brigitte.
It shows the texture clearly and both of them looks sharp enough for me.
I also like how you framed the object

My only critism would be the shadow behind: it is casted onto two walls, so it's kind of distracting. Maybe try to put it in front of a plain wall rather than in a room corner, so there's a uniform shadow. Just my opinion.

Yes, you are right the shadow is a distraction on the picture. Next time I will be aware of it when take a photo.

Regarding the shadow, for these shots in particular, just holding the camera the other way round, but still vertically, would have thrown the shadow to the right instead, where the wall behind isn't even in shot in #2. However, it will affect the look of the 'texture' and highlighting on the contours of the face, etc., but probably worth an experiment.
