Best tripod for $100
I have a Velbon cx300 which is 10yrs. old and very loose. I want to use it for closeup, portraits, and landscape. Something more solid than what I have. I think I paid about $40 for my old one. Any recomendations.

It has serious flaws, and I'm personally looking to upgrade from it... but at (currently) $36 and free shipping, you'll be hard pressed to find a better tripod per dollar value.
Here is my personal review of it...

Disclaimer: I am not saying this is a fantastic tripod. I am saying for the price it is a fantastic tripod.

Does anyone use a Manfrotto MK394-H. Its 99.00 and looks solid.

Re: Best tripod for $100
Hi Randy,
You might consider looking around for a used tripod. $100 is a very low budget to buy anything decent new, but you could possibly run across something worth having on the used market.

Thanks Eric, I'll give that a shot. After a little more research I see that I'll need a little more to invest in a good tripod.

I was given a sunpak 423xp2 for Father's day. I've only used it a little so far, but is light and I love ball head. I think you can get one from b&h for ~$120.
