Can't decide between #1 and #3. In #1 the eyes are excellent. In #3 the general pose is very relaxed. #2 has a little too much emphasis upon the nose, I think. Good shots, Colin.
Thanks Rob,
It always amuses me when I post more than one shot in a post -- nearly everyone mentions favourites
Colin
You have changed the title of this thread, unless I had too much NZ plonk last night. I seem to recall trying to change titles before and it didn't work. Is it just a Mod/Admin facility?

Hi Rob,
As far as I know, yes - I needed to change it to add more photos of others.

Don't fret, Colin! I've come back to look at this precious girl, several times. The first one - there's something very delicate - porcelain but real - precious (as in priceless) - see, I can't quite get the word and that's why I haven't commented, yet. She's like a wisp and delicate but warm and sweet at the same time. Particularly in the first one but I haven't had the chance to really figure out why, yet. I think it's just simply, the lighting combined with her eye contact. It's much more engaged in that one. Also, the catch light is so soft! I love these!
Thanks Katy,
Looks can be deceiving ... lovely kid, but pretty "full on" when she gets playing with my daughter
The light source for this shot is over 3 feet wide, and she's right up against it - hence the soft catch lights and shadows. In fact, the white you can see IS the light source.
Nice shots, Colin!
I have one comment I like them all, although I think the left side of the face is too dark. I would like to see SOME detail on that area instead of total darkness, showing me the transition from the hair to skin. That is just me though
And it's good morning from me!
I think the close up works really well with this age and as Katy said, beautiful skin texture.
On #1 the wee bit of background in the top right corner distracts me, #3 is the stunner for me.
