Anyone remember these?
To-day I went on a bus trip with my Seniors Group to the Kurrajong Radio Museum.Very interesting and brought back a lot of memories.
Didn't have room to move around to take any real good shots,it was so crowded with radio stuff.

Re: Anyone remember these?
Hi Maureen - These look like good documentary shots with sharp focus and good colour rendition. As to whether I remember such apparatus, yes I do. When I was a little boy in the 1950's, we had a radio similar to the one shown. One day it stopped working, the rheostat had burnt out. (In those days, the rheostat was used for tuning into different stations and comprised a ceramic bar wrapped in wire, a bit like the bar on an electric fire) However, my Dad repaired it in such a way that you had to plug a different wattage electric lamp bulb into a holder on the top of the radio. That gave a new meaning to the "Light Programme" as it was then called in the UK.
Cheers
David

"Anybody remember these?"
I refuse to answer on the grounds it may incriminate me!
