Helpful Posts: Hi I'm looking for a sturdy focusing rail to hold a reasonably heavy 35mm camera and lens. It's to be used for focus stacking so the movements need to be precise. I'll be using it commercially so working quickly would be an advantage. If anyone had advice on a rail that met the 3 criteria (sturdy, precise and quick) I'd be very grateful,

A colleague showed me a new Velbon rail that he'd just purchaed a couple of days ago ... looked very good to me

I use this RRS slide and am very pleased with it. It is set up for Arca-Swiss style mounts which make it very fast to install and remove. It is also quite rigid without being bulky.
