the natural sun lighting is quite nice,
I like the last one, great composition. Maybe a bit dark in my opinion

also, the third shot definitly need to bump up the contrast

    Dear Zephyrize!

    Thanks for your comment.
I bump some contrast to this picture. It looks better now.

    regards,

Hi Brigitte - This guy (or girl) looks a real character. I wonder if the shots are slightly out of focus. I catnapped one of your images and applied some refocusing using software called Focus Blur (see another recent post on this software). I then altered "Curves" using Paint shop Pro to spread out the tonal range a bit more. The result is below. What do you think?

PS What's the name of the puss?

    Dear David!

Thanks for editing the photo from Emily.
The cat-skin is highlighted and that looks very much better then the original photo.
I´m not sure if the Software which I use can do this. It´s GIMP an Free- Open-Source Program. . I get to work into it.

    regards,
    Brigitte

Hi Brigitte and Emily - Yes, The GIMP can do this. To alter the tonal range using "Curves", you will find the tool under the "Colors" menu on the Toolbar. To carry out simple sharpening, try "Filters>Enhance>Unsharp Mask", with Radius=5, Amount=0.5, Threshold=0. To carry out refocusing rather than a simple sharpen you will need to download a plugin called Refocus. Here's an address for it.

The use of Refocus in the Gimp is a bit complicated. So, if you want to follow this up, download it,install it as per instruction, and then let me know and I'll take you through it either via this post, email, or on-line chat.

    Cheers

    David
