    Re: The Red Roofed Cottage

Thanks Willie - we haven't chatted before but I have been reading some of your posts and have found them very informative. One discussed something called a Jiro Effect, I hadn't heard of it before so I tried it out on the RAW Red Roofed Cottage image and it certainly did improve the tonal range. OK I did have to try 2 or 3 times as I found it tended to push the dark areas to almost black (obviously I was not getting my adjustments quite right), but once I achieved a nice tonal range I dodged the darker areas to bring them back and I was impressed with the result. It was a great tip - thanks.

    Regards

    Chris
