Hmmm! I'd say you have excelled yourself here, Katy. Nicely atmospheric, good composition. Love the light rays in #3. Well done!
OK what have you done with our Katy Noelle? This cant be the same lass who was posting blog photos a few months ago!
They are all very accomplished but the first shot is outstanding. In fact I think you should have posted it on its own. You do realise I will be coming to you for tips now. It is so satisfying to see the CiC fledglings shedding their downy feathers and starting to soar.
No pressure for the next post then
#1 for me is the winner among these outstanding pictures!
Beautiful Katy
Wendy
If you could get the tonal values in #3 in image #2, you'd rock a good part of the known universe.
Magnifico !!
Hi Katy,
#1 for me, but could be even better with the rays of #3, which are more apparent because there's a bit more image in #3 at the top of frame than #1 has.
Did Donald pay you a visit?
Hi Katy
The "hard-hitters" have all had their say but allow me to venture a humble opinion from "down-under". It's 3 for me, perhaps with a small crop at the bottom. The light rays are magic.
Cheers Dave
Ummmmm....WOW! Thanks, Guys! Alright, here I was shaking in my boots about them and slightly feeling low BUT I decided to be confident and go ahead and show you. Suggestions registered - I'll work on them. I have several post processed versions of each and went with the ones that, well, hit me in the "gut". (ahem, not a very lady-like thing to say.) Thanks, again! I'm so pleased!!!
Hi Katy,
I like 3 the best, but would crop it to 8x10 landscape and lose the bottom from the square crop.
my 2 cents
Nice work!
Ooh these are tremendous, you must be so pleased with your journey so far?
If I must choose a favorite it is # 3 the composition just yells 'spot on ' at me....
Now I will go back and see if I am following or going it alone in my choice
Alright! Besides Raw file woes, I've, also, been separated from all of my old iphoto library. It's been a trial but, today, I'm reunited and had a chance to work on this in Lightroom. I tried to better the tonal values (like minichris suggested) and bring out the God rays (like Dave suggested.)
(Viewing this in the Light box helps. Just click on the image.=])
I love LR, btw - it is so much more flexible - there are so many more options!
Please, i could use your fresh eyes. C&C appreciated!

Lovely work Katy - especially #1.
I have been very busy with photography bits and pieces and have had trouble keeping in touch. I touch base from time to time but I have not been as active but not intentiionally. I still think this is the best sit on the web.
I have to say I have seen significant improvement in your shots. Well done.
I'm gonna join the #1 band-wagon! I love it! Well done
(Tommy, thanks for bringing this one back again. I saw it when I first arrived on the forum and was too shy to comment then. Nice to have the opportunity now )
Katy, I agree with Tommy and others here that #1 is a favourite, but it was a hard choice to make. I love the ethereal feeling of your image, as if time's stopped. Brilliant shot!
Cheers,
Seri
